In honor of World Baton Twirling Day and Joel Claudio’s birthday, we’re celebrating Joel Claudio Day with his #tipsfortwirlers!!
How do you continue working when you happen to “fail” something?
-I’m very competitive and I also keep trying and trying until I achieve my goal. Yes, they are many things that take more time than other, but I always try to stay pumped every time I practice to not get frustrated and achieve my goal faster. It’s all about the attitude you practice with.
What motivates you?
-My motivation comes from always pushing myself to be better than yesterday. Twirling is constantly evolving and I always keep in my mind that I want to be up there with the big dogs. So I work extremely hard to achieve everything I set my mind to.
What was the hardest trick to learn but worth it?
-Honestly the trick that took me the longest and kinda put me in the frustration zone for a little bit was the Hollywood roll, but after practicing it every single day, and till this day I keep working hard on it, now i feel super satisfied to be able to do it.
Message to twirlers who may get discouraged:
-The best message I can always give is to simply NEVER GIVE UP because Hard Work Pays Off! Shake it off and try it over and over again. It will happen, you will catch it, you will master it, just know that YOU CAN DO IT!!! ❤️
